View Holds

Evergreen v.2.7

A list of all holds placed on a title record is available from the title details view in the catalog. This can be retrieved by using SearchTheCatalog when only a title is known, or the ShowInCatalog Actions For Selected Item option within ItemStatus, PatronItemsOut, or CheckInItems.

While there is no sure way to say how fast a hold will be filled, this list will provide the overall context of the entire holds queue. Use this list to determine if holds exist for a missing, lost, or damaged item if your library holds the last copy.

View Holds

  1. Search for the title or use ShowInCatalog to retrieve the Title Record
  2. From the Title Details, click ActionsForThisRecord and select View Holds
  3. By default, the list is filtered to display onlyt holds for pickup at the workstatioon library; to view all holds system wide uncheck the pickup library Filter

Holds Filter

If you do want to filter the list, you have two options:

  • Pickup Library
  • Requesting Library - where the hold was placed
Once the Filter is unchecked or checked, it remain unchecked or checked until changed.

You can also specify any library. By default, the library selected is the same as the workstation library.

List options

The list can be manipulated in several ways:

  • Use the ColumnPicker to add or remove columns
  • Click on the column header to change the row sort order
  • Click and drag a column to change the column order
ALERT! NOTE: The row number does NOT reflect the HoldQueuePosition. If a column is re-sorted, the row numbers will stay the same even though the hold records change. If you wish to view the queue position (do not use this to try and estimate when a patron's hold will be filled!) HoldQueuePosition is an option in the ColumnPicker.
