Suspend and Activate Holds

v.1.6.0.8

Concepts

Patron holds can be Suspended (remain attached to the patron's holds list but will not be filled) for an indefinite period of time or a for a finite period of time. The type of suspension - indefinite or finite - determines the process you will use to place the suspension. Holds can be suspended at the point of placing the hold or for existing holds. This document explains how to suspend and activate existing holds.

Suspend existing patron holds and set an activation date

This method will suspend a hold for a set period of time. For example, a patron has unavailable holds, but will be going out of town for two weeks. She does not want to risk the hold arriving before she returns.

  1. Retrieve the PatronAccount, click Holds?

  2. Highlight the hold(s) to suspend and click Actions For Selected Holds?

  3. Select Edit Activation Date
