Hold Record

When a hold request is placed, a Hold Record is created. This record pulls together all of the information relevant to the request, including: patron information, notification details, item information, date and time hold placed, pickup library, and a list of barcodes for potential items that could fill the hold.

Every 24 hours (based on the date and time a hold record was created) a process called the HoldTargeter runs and updates any system-generated changes impacting the hold records. These changes include: PotentialCopies, CopyStatus, PatronStatus.

ALERT! NOTE: Changes made to the Patron's personal contact information will not automatically update a hold record. These and other patron-initiated changes, like edit PickupLibrary, to an existing hold record must be made from the options available in the ActionsForSelectedHolds menu.

Hold record data can be viewed and acted upon from all the staff client Holds functions: BrowseHoldsShelf, PatronHolds, PullListForHoldRequests22, and ViewHolds, as well as in the patron's online account Holds list.
